Karen Rayment



Ms. Karen Rayment is a Registered Professional Engineer who specializes in investigating product failures and electrical safety issues. With over 15 years of technical experience, the majority of her work Silicon Valley based, she conducts failure analysis studies on a variety of consumer products, home products, electric power products, and consumer electronics.

Ms. Rayment is experienced with testing and failure analysis of electrical and microelectronic systems and components, home product validation & verification, recalls and safety issues,
CPSC support for toy investigations, and product safety analysis for potential recalls. In addition, she investigates residential and commercial electrical fires. She has particular expertise in failure mode and effects analysis of mixed-signal, printed circuit board products for medical devices, home products, and consumer electronics, and is also accomplished at product hazard analysis.

Ms. Rayment works closely with product liability litigators, global engineering teams, quality assurance executives, manufacturers, corporate counsel, and insurance adjusters to determine root cause failure, and to provide failure mitigation feedback for design revisions. She is accomplished at Product Reliability Engineering and has helped design and evaluate electrical R&D laboratories certified to ISO Standards. She provides litigation support and expert testimony to law firms, insurance companies and manufacturers, including intellectual property (IP) litigation support and prior art searches and evaluations.
